TAYLORVILLE – Senator Doris Turner is partnering with the Christian County Senior Citizens Center to host a Senior Fair from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Christian County Senior Citizens Center, located at 701 West Adams Street in Taylorville.
This event provides local seniors with a one-stop shop for available resources.
“There are a wide variety of resources available to seniors, but not everyone is aware of them,” said Turner (D-Springfield). “Our goal is to help connect our neighbors with resources and information to help them stay safe, informed and healthy.”
Local and state resource organizations are available to hand out information and answer questions. The event is open and free to the public and interested vendors.
The Christian County Department of Public Health will be on-site to provide flu vaccinations. Those interested should bring their insurance card or Medicare card to utilize these services, otherwise it will be $40 out-of-pocket cost.
Turner invites area organizations that provide services to seniors to register to participate at www.SenatorDorisTurner.com or call her office at 217-782-0228.
